My art is reflective of my personal migration experiences. The Monarch butterflies is a very common symbol for migration. I was drawn to it because of its transformative nature and the fact that they migrate over borders. Everyone should have the right to freely move.

A group of butterflies swarms in my “Monarch Gathering” to replace the image of fear with a vision of shared community and interconnectivity. I hope my art empowers and moves people to social change – that it can spark the imagination like a butterfly’s wings can cause a tornado.
